Heartspring and the Texas Conference Center for Connectional Resources are working together again to offer seminars on clergy income tax and church finance and legal issues. Additional information is below. 9:15 -12:15 noon Clergy Tax Seminar 12:15 - 1:30 p.m. Lunch on your own 12:45 - 1:30 p.m. Registration for those attending only the Church Finance portion 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. Church Finance and Legal Update Fees: Content: The Church Finance Session explores church financial issues and legal implications. We will discuss basic church finance and accounting including payroll administration, forms, documents and procedures related to the financial management of churches and related ministries such as pre-schools, parents-day-out, etc.
Frank Sommerville will present the Tyler seminars. He is an attorney with the law firm of Weycer, Kaplan, Pulaski and Zuber, PC and has served non-profit institutions of all sizes as a bookkeeper, accountant, auditor, tax advisor and advocate, litigator and legal advisor. Sommerville also is a discussion leader for the Texas Society of CPAs (TSCPA) on non-profit issues. His law practice concentrates on taxation, church and non-profit legal issues, estate planning, probate and related taxation.
