HOUSTON - March 1, 2010- The 2010 Tax Seminars co-sponsored by Heartspring Methodist Foundation and the Texas Conference Fiscal Office in February were a huge success! The seminars, offered in Houston and Tyler, hosted more than 100 attendees representing approximately 70 churches of the Texas Conference. Registration each year opens in late December, so mark your calendars now if you'd like to take advantage of these seminars next year.Â

HOUSTON, Jan. 21, 2010 - Heartspring Methodist Foundation has loaned $200,000 to ACCION Texas, a microfinance nonprofit organization that makes loans of $500 to $100,000 to small and start-up businesses in Texas and Louisiana. The Heartspring dollars are targeted to supporting entrepreneurs in the region served by the foundation, which extends from Houston north through East Texas.

Houston - December 1, 2009 - Heartspring Methodist Foundation and the Texas Conference Fiscal Office will again co-sponsor seminars on clergy income tax and church finance and legal issues in February 2010 in Tyler and Houston. ORLANDO - September 15, 2009 - Heartspring Methodist Foundation was nominated for Crescendo Interactive's 2009 Best Web Site Award, winning honorable mention. The award is based on excellence in graphic appeal and effectiveness in promoting planned giving.
"Being ranked with the Smithsonian Institute (the other honorable mention recipient) is a tremendous honor," said C.J. Taylor, Heartpring president/CEO. "Our goal for the new Web site is to provide useful financial information as part of our mission to serve the needs of the Texas Conference. It is wonderful to get outside validation that we're being effective." |

HOUSTON - July 28, 2009 - Heartspring Methodist Foundation joined with other financing sources to make a new $11.3 million senior living center, in the planning stages for eight years, a reality. Corinthian Village Senior Living Community in Houston will have 124 units, including 40 subsidized apartments. The facility is part of Pointe 234, a master-planned community including the Corinthian Pointe subdivision. It is being developed by Kingdom Builders, a Community Development Corporation established by Windsor Village United Methodist Church, in collaboration with public, private and nonprofit partners.
